October Updates

Hi, everyone! I hope all of our dancers are enjoying their classes this semester!  I know I certainly am.  Having our small studio be a little larger and the addition of the new wall is really making teaching class in both studios much more enjoyable.  I have a couple things I wanted to let you know and a couple reminders to make sure things continue to run smoothly.

Dress Code
Please make sure your dancer is dressed appropriately for class!  We’ve seen some shorts without tights and denim jeans and shorts in class recently.  Obviously we’d rather have our dancers in class in school clothes than not in class at all, but remember that we do have a dress code for dance.  The dress code is available on our website here: Policies and Dress Code Please take a moment to review the dress code to make sure your dancer is in compliance!
T-Shirt and Sweatshirt Preorders
Now that the weather is cooler, I’ll be restocking our RDS sweatshirt and t-shirt supply.  I do have some hoodies in stock in Adult Sizes and Kids’ sizes Small and Medium (no Large right now) and Adult T’s (I think I have one Childs Small T).  If you would like to sport a snazzy grey RDS hoodie, please preorder your size at the studio the next time you’re there.  I won’t be making a huge order so I don’t end up with too many, so make sure to reserve your size!
I’m also going to order some long sleeved shirts and tanks from a new printing company.  They will be more expensive, but they have more styles to choose from than my usual t-shirt guy.  These will be almost exclusively pre-order.  I’ll have pictures at the studio soon.

Recital Costumes
I know it sounds silly to even bring this up right now, but costume time is coming up FAST!  Many of you have dancers in multiple classes and some of you have multiple dancers in multiple classes.  A 50% deposit on recital costumes will be due by the Holiday Break this year.  In an effort to help break up the costs, you are welcome to begin payments on recital costumes now.  Each class’s costume will be $65.  I know budgets are tight around the holiday season, but requiring a 50% deposit on costumes before the break means we have a better selection of costumes in stock to choose from and can often get an Early Order Discount to get more expensive costumes at lower prices.
Fall Studio Closings
We follow Knox County’s schedule for school closings, but there are a couple additional days we’ll be closed as well.
Fall Break – Oct 16-20, Wednesday through Sunday – We’re closed on Wednesday night, even though Knox County has school that day.  I know lots of people like to head out for vacation right after school when it’s a short break/long weekend.
Halloween – Thursday, Oct 31 – Attendance is usually low on this day, if dancers would like to make up this absence, they are more than welcome to.  I typically don’t allow make up classes when the studio is closed, but I want to make an exception for this one.  🙂
Thanksgiving – Wednesday – Sunday Nov 27-Dec 1
Last day before Christmas Break – Friday, Dec 19 – Classes resume Monday, Jan 6, 2014

Thank you so much for your on-time payments!  I think the past couple months I’ve had the highest percentage of on-time tuition payments ever!
Thank you SO MUCH for your support of our studio!  We’re having a great year and I’m looking forward to a wonderful Holiday Season with you all!
Ms. Valerie
