Adult Modern

Please notice that I’ve traded all the tap classes for modern and added an adult modern class on Thursday nights.  I know tap and modern aren’t exactly the same (at all!) but the majority of my training is in modern dance.  I wanted to have *something* going on when we will have tap in the spring and I’d love to try out a few modern classes and see how they go.  Modern or contemporary often gets a bad rap by people who assume that it’s interpretive dance.  In modern, pretty much anything goes: flexed and parallel feet, choreography driven by emotion or experiences, dancing in silence to allow footsteps and breath to create the music, etc.  It can be an incredibly powerful and exceptionally creative form of dance and I’d like to give anyone and everyone who is interested a chance to try it out.  Just like any of our other classes, if they don’t do well, we’ll replace them with something else.  We’re flexible like that.  😉

See you all on Saturday!!
